tell people who doubt #evolution:
"look at your feet
you can't tell me that didn't used to be a hand. why the fuck can you wiggle your toes? what the fuck are even your toes? yeah yeah balance, gait, etc- that's just making what you got work. which is obviously something that until very recently was a hand, that is now halfway to turning into a hoof or pad or some tripod thing in another couple million years. it's not an #intelligentDesign! the human foot is fucking stupid"

Yup. Omnivalent agents who can/might do anything in/per "mysterious ways" is always the more probable explanation for any event. Never mind proteins or solar systems, I'm talking a slot machine sequence, a roll of a die, or a flip of a coin. Heck, even a negative roll of a die. Like, the probability would be 1, if you assume such an agent, who desires a specific state of affairs "because reasons".

Guillermo Gonzalez has been doing the apologetics promo circuit recently, and it's getting tedious repeatedly hearing some variation of "appeal to sweet spot" in argument for some "intelligent design", when the "sweet spot" is itself set up by the "intelligent designer".

“In the beginning, God created...” Most people are very familiar with this scripture, as it is the first in the Bible. That said, there are several theories of what creation looked like: young and old earth creationism, intelligent design, the big bang theory, and simulation theory.

William Albert Dembski is an American who is one of the main pushers of the pseudoscience of intelligent design, specifically his unfalsifiable concept of "specified complexity".
Unusually for a creationist, he does in fact have some actual credentials: a Ph.D in mathematics from the University of Chicago, a Ph.D in philosophy from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a Masters of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. Now, if only one of those fine institutions recognized Intelligent Design as being anything but an absolute hodgepodge of nonsense, he'd be set.
…
Thus, despite having been educated at real universities, he "lectures" and "does research" at institutions that are at the very deep end of overtly faith-driven #pseudoscience.
