Next up: writing a motor driver in #Arduino that accepts serial commands from #ROS running on the #RaspberryPi (to do the heavy processing, like #OpenCV). I hope to get some kind of object tracking/following as a demo on the #XRP #edgeAI

Anyone here who can give me a hint how I can improve my shape detection? I wrote a small #iOS App that takes a photo of hexagonal shapes and tries to detect the hexagons. I use #OpenCV to make a binary image and the point cloud looks good, but the shape is always off.

В профессии инженера-металловеда мне ежедневно приходится анализировать микроструктуру материалов и неметаллические включения. До недавнего времени я, как и многие, делал это вручную: окуляр микроскопа, шкалы, подсчёты, Excel. Утомительно и долго. На фоне постоянного потока образцов нагрузка на глаза и внимание становится ощутимой. Коммерческие программы для металловедов решают эту проблему... почти. Они избыточны, дороги, и процентов на 90 включают функции, которыми обычный инженер не пользуется. Хотелось чего-то проще, точнее и, желательно, бесплатного. Так родился мой проект SenseOptics KANV.

Yeah so once I connected a camera module to the #RaspberryPiZero and streamed video to my desktop through #UDP and watched it with #VLC. Good thing I documented absolutely NOTHING about that setup and now have to start from scratch even though I am tired and irritable.
