Well, I have managed to sort out the #plasmashell crashing after an update for #nobara 42, but I have decided that for all the great stuff it offers...it's kinda heavyweight.
So, as much as I love distrohopping, I am more of the user type, so I am going to my trusted distribution, which is #linuxmint ..yeah, #noob stuff, but I value stability and easy of work over the latest thingy.
Also, I would love to do some #ricing ...but do I really have time for this? :)

You have to hit Alt + F3 when the game window is focused, and select "Keep above others" from the menus.

There's also an option to get rid of titlebar and frame from games that insist on rendering those.

From the "Configure Application (something)" submenu option you can make those changes persistent.

Your other option is to configure your panels to autohide, dodge windows, or keep below windows.

As things currently stand on my #KDE system, I have a login script which runs a while loop listening to d-bus events for system unlock and then restarts my #plasma-shell and plasma.power services, so that I don't lose the Desktop Environment or Keyboard control of Monitor brightness.

In another life, I would be trying to upstream fixes for these. But not in this life.

2000 file names. Less than 52000 characters in those file names. 9 GiB of size in the files themselves. An icon next to those that is of two types. A folder that brings an additional 7 characters and one more icon and contains over 9000 files at 35GiB and have all been moved from the primary folder it is in.

Please consider not blocking things with a permanent message on widget that I can browse into those 11000 files on one lowly cpu core in 2024.

I also had some other issues and to be fair articles like this one:

are not reassuring that 10 years of #wayland was really worth the wait. Yes it is way snappier - but at what costs?
Like why is it ok that restarting #plasmashell when it gets stuck for whatever reason takes down all apps with it?
Why is recoding in such a shitty place?
Some Games I tried feel realy strange but i cant tell why.
On the other side - resume from suspend finally works :D...

@tuxedocomputers
Hallo,

Well, Like that my attempt of moving from #Kubuntu 22.04 to #Debian 12 looks good.

I need to find a way to have installed #Firefox on a more friendly way. Now can't auto update.. I have installed it on /opt/

My main issues, was with #KDE / #Plasmashell customization. I need to use a fork of applet-window-buttons and use latte taskbar widget to get a working vertical taskbar. My desktop customization it's a old Unity like. With a global menu, windows buttons on the top. and a lateral task manager with the menu button.

At least #Wayland felts usable to me. And I can use his features to resize a monitor to match the different DPIs of my monitors setup.

Since early February, I've been suffering from various hangs on #KDE #Plasma , which seem to point to plasmashell.
Often triggered by notifications and/or virtual desktop switches, and the plasma toolbar hangs, switching desktops stops working.

But now, when trying to get the #plasmashell logs, trying to get notifications from discord or element trigger a crash, it doesn't want to...

Would this be the observer effect?
