Hmm, here's another photo from Sunday.

I know this is a something and nothing scene... but I love a view. A wee cottage below in the foreground, reflections in the loch, and boggy glen backed by the rough hillside beyond.

And for a while this view was all mine. No-one else around. The silence only broken by a trickling burn... Look deep into the photo, do you see it? Just a little solace away from the world if only for a few moments.

Yesterday (Sunday) we had a stroll to the estate bothy at Lochivraon. I did contemplate heading up Creag Rainich but didn't. I really didn't fancy one popular walking site's route which suggests a long pathless climb across bog, ankle breaking tussocks and other unpleasantness to the ridgeline. I found a better path up from the bothy for next time.

Nothing I've seen online prepares you for the grandeur of the place. For me, it's not just the lochan, the triple buttress, the surprise view, or the remoteness. It's everything....
