Meta Sued for Pirating Porn Movies to Train AI, Faces $359M Lawsuit
This is genius
Also, you now know that the LLM Tech bros have no real geek sense of humour because "Lobachevsky" would be the perfect name for one.
"Plagiarize!
Let no one else's work evade your eyes
Remember why the good Lord made your eyes
So don't shade your eyes
But plagiarize, plagiarize, plagiarize
Only be sure always to call it please 'training'"

"It’s up to the companies to determine how to handle these demands. I spoke this week to an OpenAI engineer working on model behavior who told me that the company already strives for neutrality. In a technical sense, they said, meeting government standards like being anti-woke shouldn’t be a huge hurdle. But this isn’t a technical dispute: It’s a constitutional one. If companies like Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google decide to try minimizing racial bias in their LLMs, or make a conscious choice to ensure the models’ responses reflect the dangers of climate change, the First Amendment presumably protects those decisions as exercising the “freedom of speech and expression” touted in the AI Action Plan. A government mandate denying government contracts to companies exercising that right is the essence of interference.
You might think that the companies building AI would fight back, citing their constitutional rights on this issue. But so far no Big Tech company has publicly objected to the Trump administration’s plan. Google celebrated the White House’s support of its pet issues, like boosting infrastructure. Anthropic published a positive blog post about the plan, though it complained about the White House’s sudden seeming abandonment of strong export controls earlier this month. OpenAI says it is already close to achieving objectivity. Nothing about asserting their own freedom of expression."

Publishers can't dodge AI — it's here.
Vogue's August 2025 issue featured AI-generated models with flawless skin and proportions, labeled as "produced with artificial intelligence." The reaction? Longtime readers are canceling subscriptions, criticizing the move as undermining human artistry and authenticity.
This isn't just a trend — it's a fundamental shift in how media is made.
Will audiences adapt, or push back harder?
What The White House AI strategy means for advertisers
For as quickly as it has been adopted, generative AI is still largely considered the Wild West, especially…

#Weather was considered to be some #Gods for a long time, probably out of ignorance and fear. I was pretty sure that #sciences were supposed to free us from all this, not create yet another #cult. It is called #hubris if I am not mistaken, not #innovation. Hopefully, 5 Gigawatts #LLMs will agree with me. I will look stupid otherwise, won't I?
I know this is going to sound crazy, but it's the fact that an #LLM produces #bullshit is more than 50% of why it's useful.
The sooner people start valuing the bullshit from #LLMs the faster the technology will reach maturity.
Our #economy is also an artificially intelligent system, and it produces just mountains of bullshit.

"One could argue that by repurposing creative works, AI has expanded the art multiplier: each dollar spent on the arts now yields its usual social return, as well as additional value derived from its incorporation into AI systems.
Yet, despite the value of their contributions, public funding for artists and creators has steadily declined. In the United Kingdom, for example, direct support from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to national arts bodies fell by 18% per person in real terms between 2009-10 and 2022-23. Over the same period, core funding for arts councils dropped by 18% in England, 22% in Scotland, 25% in Wales, and 66% in Northern Ireland. As generative AI continues to churn out synthetic content and displace human labor, that support must increase to reflect the realities of a changing creative economy.
Admittedly, with public finances under pressure and debt on the rise, this is hardly the time for unchecked government spending. Any additional funding would need to be financed responsibly. While a detailed policy blueprint is beyond the scope of this article, it’s worth noting that the enormous profits generated by major tech firms could be partially redirected to support the creative communities that power their models.
One way to achieve this would be to impose a levy on the gross revenues of the largest AI providers, collected by a national or multilateral agency. As the technology becomes increasingly embedded in daily life and production processes, the revenue flowing to AI firms is bound to grow – and so, too, will contributions to the fund. These resources could then be distributed by independent grant councils on multiyear cycles, ensuring that support reaches a wide range of disciplines and regions."
