I'm also working on a card game. Um, this is what it looks like right now. It's not really a game yet, but at 2.6 mb, I think it's the biggest #picotron game so far.
The reason for the size is it contains the complete Cartae Mirabiles, by the incredibly talented Cerise Pomme, 294 cards from various games, all unified. So, I just have to build the game around that.
Interactive terminal programs for #picotron 0.2.0e: input() blocks execution until something is entered (or returns nil if escape is pressed).
// by default processes in #picotron 0.2.0e all run in the background, and get automatically niced to priority 0.01 when their window is not visible.
Part of making movement consequential has to be a good food clock. I'm trying a periodically-spawning enemy type.
Here's where they spawn. A spawner flashes if it's the source of the next spawn.
If you're near an EMP bot, it will blast an EMP that drains your energy.
Hi, I'm Maya Zimmerman, a very small-time game dev and trans woman. My brain has some disorders and interesting stuff about it, some diagnosed.
For game dev work, #picotron is my engine of choice and I will gush about it whenever I can.

Curious for any and all feedback! This is a low-polish rough prototype to see where (if anywhere!) there is fun in this design. Balance is way off.
Near term directions: escalating difficulty, upgrades, better enemies, bigger levels, more interesting gen.

Added energy drain when digging and energy pickups.
15x15 is feeling a little dense; digging in most directions will yield a room. Maybe expand?
Might try enemies next. Also want to add some sort of loot that would drive "push your luck" exploration.
