For #vgmwednesday here is "The Great Sea" from The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker.

How you feel about the song is probably how you also feel about this game. The player will hear it a lot, and it is most closely tied to sailing around the sea, a task many people found arduous. The heroic horn over the rolling strings is so evocative of the cel shaded sea. It has a clarity and drive of adventure and a summer afternoon.

Windwaker is not the first Zelda game that I played, but it was the first one I loved. Seeing the shape of an island in the distance and knowing that it's a thing I could go to changed how I thought about the relationship between graphics and gameplay. The game wasn't pretty because it could be; it used it's power to create a new experience. (And it's still lovely).
