If y'all use asdf as a version manager for local development, they stopped supporting updating asdf through the CLI as of 0.15.x .

The current version is 0.16.4

So if you hadn't installed it via `brew install asdf` or some other package manager (e.g. you installed it directly, as I had done) you may be falling further and further behind.

I noticed because I started getting an error about completions when the oh-my-zsh asdf plugin was updated to better support 0.16.x about 2 weeks ago.

Hey everyone. I must admit, I don't believe I have ever seen someone enter #utf8 #unicode characters on a #computer in a natural way. Which seems weird, because a bunch of languages use them.

I wrote a #commonLisp #asdf package that just looks up a list of symbols in a file that has every non-surrogate unicode codepoint in it, and an #emacs #elisp function that just calls the #lisp one.

Multilingual people, what can you tell me about doing this at all?

@kerrick Yah, #asdf v0.16 committed the fatal crime of breaking my shell profile... because I followed the exact directions they gave for their previous version's setup.

I don't want a new terminal tab to spew an error and screenful of help text at me because of a minor version bump.

Fantastic. The #asdf multiple runtime manager folks performed a Great Rewrite into #GoLang from v0.15 to v0.16, simultaneously breaking stuff because it's no longer possible outside of a shell script *and* introducing breaking changes because they could:

(asdf is like #NodeJs's nvm or #Ruby's rbenv or #Perl's perlbrew but for *every* tool. I like it but this is annoying.)

I wrote up what I was trying to share on the show about my usual-approach to #git and #asdf #systems (in #lisp). #programming #itch #itch_io #devlog #gamedev er, sharpsign technical discussion. #commonLisp.

Aptly titled. If you know A Better Way, I would like to talk about that here.

Or, also if you currently use a language that works very differently to this.

I'm a bit off-color again this week, so let's just all share our personal #computer #basics.

About #asdf, #lisp, #emacs, #links2, #eww, #slime, #git, #mcclim etc, when I say I like to

...what?
