A Fast Rewind to the Era of Tapesponding - Imagine a time before Discord servers and cheap long-distance calls. Today I cleaned another dozen music #tapes and they still work great considering the age and how I kept them (badly).
A blast from the past! Original tapes, some copied by friends, some recorded from the radio, there are also songs composed by me with my first keyboards!
Yesterday I was thinking about things I throwed away and I'm missing, like:
- hundreds of #Amiga floppies
- #c64 tapes
- my father's Eko Tiger Duo #organ
What a fool I've been...

A tape loop experiment of freezing a tape loop in water, thawing it out, and loading it back into a cassette tape.
The original loop was taken from field recording of Lake Nippissing in Canada using a hydrophone

You’d be hard pressed to find a bigger fan of the I.R.S. R.E.M. records than yours truly.
Dead Letter Office has eluded me on vinyl, so when i saw this cassette version today, I jumped on it.
Filled with a slew of covers (including THREE Lou Reed penned songs), I love it for the b-sides from the singles released between Murmur and Life’s Rich Pageant.

FINAL MISSION (PRE-SHOW: WELCOME TO PADUCAH)
After something like 30 years these #cassette #tapes have shocked me! They all works just fine, maybe there is a little volume decrease but... Wow!
Around 15 years ago I stored them outside my house, with no direct sun and rain, but with humidity and high/low temps.
There was a time I removed all these stuff because of #CD and #mp3 but today I'm so happy they are still working... I'm almost crying for my happiness... I've tons of these tapes most of them are original!

Is #PhysicalMedia more your thing?
#AnalogRevolution and many of the same artists got you.

Doesn't matter if you're a tape head, a vinyl nerd or still rocking the CD player.
You must have a very sturdy version there, because the ones that were here in the tropics, where the temperatures can reach 38 to 41°C those did not survive for a long time, before their heads got out of alignment and they got magnetized quite fast too
In the tropics the belts of such a recorder were destroyed in about 8 years they just dried up & snapped
@Dendrobatus_Azureus @RadioAzureus @mms That would be pretty nutty (yet super cool!) load load Flight Sim from a cassette tape!
For what it's worth, I used a datasette for many years with my VIC-20 and never had any issues with it. I still have it today and use it regularly after 40+ years!
