i've been enjoying the #zed text editor but i'm sure #enshitfication will come eventually. i'm not sure how the team makes money but whatevs. it works for now.

only issue i've had with it is that it doesn't seem to be set up for multiple instances of the editor running at a time. it runs fine with multiple instances but the flow of opening a single file or whatever is pretty tough.

#zed has been my daily driver for a week now, and apart from advanced features and a "navigate to test" I can cope without, there is no real reason for me to look back.

Emacs will remain my git frontend of choice. There is Lazygit, or Gitui, but Magit remains unbeatable, and 3-way merge is a breeze.

I really wish I could switch to #Zed and start recommending it to my students…but whenever I try it after a new version is released, I am disappointed. 😕

It’s come a really long way, but there just are way too many paper cuts for it to be used productively… Things like indentation settings being unintuitive or just ignored, tags not auto closing, Emmet sometimes just not working…

У меня в zed появились агенты \o/, но у меня он заработал только с claude 3.7 Работает медленно и при этом кулеры у лэптопа идут на взлёт, как-будто я ИИ локально запускаю :blobcatfacepalm: Сильно не хватает human in the loop, так как результат сразу вставляется в код. У меня версяи zed сейчас 0.181.5 посмотрим, что будет дальше. В целом, мне скорее нравится, чем нет
