Asking my #techbubble here: Does anyone know a #CalDAV / #CardDAV-solution that comes with push-message (new push when adding a new calendar-entry for example) support by default?

Already checked out Nextcloud Calendar & Contacts and Baïkal and want to move our family away from iCloud calendar-sharing (still this one calendar to go!) but I'm being blamed that no push-messages appear with any other solutions...

Suggestions anyone? Thx in advance!

Andy Tseng<p>This just feels like classic tech hype - big bucks, grand vision, but where's the concrete plan? Ego polishing, maybe? Talk is easy. Delivering? Guill.Jones, Honorary Canadian<p>"When the AI bubble bursts, things are not necessarily going to get better. I couldn't possibly cover everything here, but in summary: AI as a whole will change its name to something else, but will still be widely used. Tech companies will become more militarized. Data centers will be left wasting our resources. Savings will lose value and jobs will be lost. Our information ecosystems will be decimated and the internet as we know it will be lost." --Ada Ada Ada<br><a href="https://www.patreon.com/posts/127813317" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">patreon.com/posts/127813317</span><span class="invisible"></span></a><br><a href="https://beige.party/tags/GenerativeAi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GenerativeAi</span></a> <a href="https://beige.party/tags/Tech" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tech</span></a> <a href="https://beige.party/tags/TechBubble" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TechBubble</span></a> <a href="https://beige.party/tags/Internet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Internet</span></a></p>

“We are in the midst of a group delusion — a consequence of an economy ruled by people that do not participate in labor of any kind outside of sending and receiving emails and going to lunches that last several hours — where the people with the money do not understand or care about human beings. […]

“I refuse to sit here and pretend that any of this matters. #OpenAI and #Anthropic are not innovators, and are antithetical to the spirit of #SiliconValley. They are management consultants dressed as founders, cynical con artists raising money for products that will never exist while peddling software that destroys our planet and diverts attention and capital away from things that might solve real problems.”

Ed Zitron's Where's Your Ed At · The Generative AI ConIt's been just over two years and two months since ChatGPT launched, and in that time we've seen Large Language Models (LLMs) blossom from a novel concept into one of the most craven cons of the 21st century — a cynical bubble inflated by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman built to sell

This was a good podcast episode, and I recommend it:

Ed Zitron speaks with Brooke at @onthemedia [who have BTW disappointingly apparently abandoned their Mastodon presence for fizzy Bsky] about the shiny new DeepSeek and its implication for the big-"AI" bubble, with trenchant commentary about Big Tech in general.
